Peter Gumas is a native New Yorker, with a lifetime passion for real estate. He purchased his first apartment in Greenwich Village while attending NYU in the evenings, using his student loans to make the down payment. Upon graduating with his MBA, Peter accepted a marketing position with Nabisco in New Jersey, and leveraged the re-location package to acquire another apartment in Hoboken. After a year, he flipped that property and bought a two-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village. By the time he was 25, Peter had purchased 3 apartments and owned 2, all by leveraging his creative real estate savvy.
Peter built a strong career in corporate marketing while continuing to invest in real estate on the side. For many decades, he held senior level positions with Nabisco, Bristol Myers, Citibank and the National Basketball Association (where he served as Senior Director of International Marketing). His corporate accomplishments include the introduction of Honey Roasted Nuts, the over the counter marketing roll-out of Ibuprofen, the international expansion of basketball across the globe and the launch of the Citi loyalty program known as Thank You. Ironically, he would often earn more in annual income through real estate than from his salary. Ultimately, Peter concluded that he had accomplished all he could in the marketing world and made the jump to real estate. Now he applies his skill set to help others replicate his success as a real estate investor.
Peter is also an experienced contractor who has designed and installed several kitchens and bathrooms and re-designed several apartments. Consequently, Peter is uniquely qualified to advise clients who are considering a renovation or construction project.
Peter truly enjoys helping others and prides himself in particular on his integrity, sincerity and empathy. When he begins working with a new client, his first step is always just to listen–to the client’s needs, wishes, questions and concerns. Once he has a clear vision of the task at hand, however, Peter works tenaciously to deliver a real estate solution custom tailored to his client’s circumstances, whether it’s a dream apartment or the perfect buyer. Through it all, from first contact until closing and beyond, he works tirelessly to serve as your trusted advisor and advocate. Ultimately, Peter’s greatest satisfaction is knowing that his clients feel 100% satisfied with the service he has provided and, perhaps, that they have also gained a new friend.
In his spare time, Peter is an avid runner and has completed several NYC Marathons. He also speaks fluent Greek and passable Spanish, though he firmly believes that the language he speaks best is the language of New York real estate.
