Gilligan's at 310 West Broadway
If you are looking for Montauk in Manhattan without the long drive, this is the perfect summer spot for open-air celebrations. With weathered wood planks, white bamboo and lots of lush, tropical plants, this huge space lends a nautical-tiki style for large groups or intimate affairs. Enjoy casual seating, a walk- up bar, and cocktails by pitchers.
Gilligan’s is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The tropical ambiance is very unique, the frozen watermelon margaritas are the most popular, and the food is great. For appetizers we had the tuna crudo, which was delicious, their pizzas are stone oven baked. I highly recommend the Margarita Pizza, and for mid-course you should try some of the best lobster rolls west of The Hamptons. The whole Branzino was my main course. It is the whole fish, two people can share it, we ordered shishito peppers to complement our main courses, and my wife had the shrimp spaghettini, and then for dessert we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream.
They have a great selection of wines, including organic and orange wines. Since its almost summer, you cant beat a cold beer on a hot day in a great outdoor spot with a delicious menu to boot!
Don't let your summer go without checking out this place.
